“Efficient ongoing collaboration has a significant impact on business innovation, performance and even the bottom line.”

Google publicly released the results and the trends favor forward-thinking companies. 73% of respondents were not satisfied with their company’s way of working – they lacked flexibility and efficient collaboration practices. One respondent mentioned :

“Effective communication is the first step toward empowering each person in the company to take ownership.”

The study also confirmed which applications are the most effective for communication and improve the performance of the team. The top 3 were file sharing tools, webmail tools, and BI & Analytics – leveraging the cloud to enhance collaboration efforts with anytime, anywhere access.

Just over a quarter of respondents pointed to their IT department with the marketing department being the runner-up. The collaboration study showed how important communication and knowledge sharing technology is to the company. Office 365 provides just that.
